Welcome to the Port Elizabeth Church of Christ!
In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus provides the most comprehensive description of the culture of living in the Kingdom of God that we find in the Bible. The Sermon starts with the so-called "beatitudes" which can be described as the attitudes that need to be in place for Kingdom living. These teachings have been called a "punch in the gut" – such challenging words of Jesus should cause some discomfort.
How important is it for Christians to live like this ?
What does it mean to be blessed by God ?
What does it mean to be poor in Spirit ?
What should we mourn for and how will we be comforted ?
Is meekness the same as weakness ?
How can we be peacemakers in a world of war and conflict ?
Join us from 13 May – 21 June as we answer these and other important questions about the culture and values associated with living in God’s Kingdom.
When : Sundays at 11h00
Where : cnr Kirkwood and Geard Streets, North End
