21st Anniversary Celebration

The Port Elizabeth Church of Christ was planted by God 21 years ago and our partnership with Him to reach this milestone was celebrated over the weekend of 20-21 August.

The Saturday morning celebrations included a time of inspiring worship and praise, excellent lessons by church leaders from Durban and Johannesburg, impactful personal sharing by various disciples, and energetic dance items by the teens in the church. On Saturday afternoon an excellent Youth and Family workshop was facilitated by Dave Pocta (originally from Chicago but now based in Johannesburg) who also co-ordinates this key ministry for our various churches around the world. The Saturday programme was concluded with an evening of family fun and dancing.

Sunday started with prayer walks on Kings Beach followed by an inspiring worship service with a great lesson by Michael Burns (a teacher from Fox valley Church in the United States) called "Remember". The lesson audio is available here.

Apart from local church members, the weekend was enjoyed by about 60 visitors from Port Elizabeth and beyond. The feedback was very encouraging, and God was clearly glorified. We are especially grateful the out of town visitors making sacrifices to attend, and for helping make another great memory of life to the full in God's family.
